I've spent a majority of my undergraduate writing in the academic genre. As a political science major, argumentative and research driven essays are a huge part of the course work. Through these assignments, this genre has significantly improved and influenced my writing.

Included in this section is an essay I wrote for a course on human rights, which to me exemplifies my work in this genre. The Context of Economic Sanctions examines the use of economic sanctions to enforce human rights norms, specifically in the case of Apartheid era South Africa. Women Working for the Party, is a more extensive research paper for an Asian studies course on contemporary issues in India. This work is significant to me because it spurred my interest in women's issues.
